Local performers will don Sunday best and sing their hearts out, helping raise funds for the Friends of Williamson Park while lifting visitors spirits.
The group hope to raise funds to help with plans to restore a cascade waterfall by the lake in the park.
Boaters and Blazers, organised by Lancaster musician Sue Parish and the city’s Gillow Ukuleleans group, will come to the Lancaster park on Sunday July 19.
It will be the first time the ukulele players have taken part as they perform acoustic sets, including classic Edwardian songs and music hall favourites.
Performances will take place from 1pm – 3pm in the Dell, the shelter by the lake, and near the Friend’s Garden.
Other performers include Morecambe Uke Group, Burneside’s Bryce Street Strummers, Uku-Ladies, Cumbrian Tethera and Sandstone.
The finale will be a mass busk around the old bandstand by Ashton Memorial.
Boaters and Blazers welcome fellow ukulele enthusiasts who want to get involved on the day by signing up for performance spots or joining in the final mass busk at 3.15pm – more information at ukulelemalarkey.com
