Tower has a head for kites

Between 11am to 5pm, The Northern Kite Group will take over the skies, while on the ground there will be archery and music.

Admission: £3 per person, under fives free.

The following Sunday there will be A Musical Evening with Phoenix Strings from 7pm until 10pm.

The Lancashire-based orchestra includes a variety of people from a vet to an ex-ship’s captain. The programme covers an eclectic mix, from Mozart to the haunting Ashokan Farewell.

And on Sunday June 15 there will be a farmers’ market between 10am-2pm.

The house will also open for guided tours – 11am to 4pm.
