The bright lights venture a little further out of Blackpool this month as “Hooray for Hollywood” heads to Lytham St. Annes for a performance at Lowther Pavilion on April 18.

Katie Ashby, the show’s director and cast member says, “It has been a while since we came to Lytham for a show and I am so excited to be returning with our latest addition to our vintage-inspired productions.

“Having had such overwhelming success with The D-Day Darlings sing “The Songs That Won The War”, it really gave me the push to put together a show commemorating another significant era in recent history: Hollywood.

People of various ages and backgrounds still have a keen interest in the silver screen and all things vintage.

“This gives us the opportunity to recapture the nostalgia of classic Hollywood and provide a musical that has dazzling costumes, unforgettable songs and a heart-warming story.”

Hooray for Hollywood is set in the heart of 1930s London on Savile Row in high class dress store, ‘Props and Frocks’, which is run by ‘resting’ film director the eccentric Leonard Love, with his sidekick co-worker and chorus girl, Grace Valentine.

The arrival of two Hollywood stars to the store soon puts them on the map and Miss Valentine lands her first major movie role.

The story combines romance and nostalgia, pieced together with the most memorable melodies of classic Hollywood including Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend, The Lady is a Tramp, Get Happy, and many more.

Hooray for Hollywood will be performing at 7.30pm on Friday 18th April at Lowther Pavilion.

Tickets for the show are priced at £17 full admission, £16 children.
