The incredible Doctor Dolittle will come to Lancashire next week when Garstang Theatre Group presents a stage version of the famous tales.

Author Hugh Lofting’s stories for his children were first brought to life in the ‘Doctor Dolittle’ film starring Rex Harrison and Anthony Newley, a stage version followed and now the tale has been adapted for amateur production.

It comes with colourful costumes and much humour to the stage of Garstang Community Academy from May 12 to 16, nightly at 7.30pm.

The remarkable doctor’s great ambition is to find the Great Pink Sea Snail and he manages to raise funds to buy a boat and embarks on a journey of discovery.

His incredible adventures along the way makes for a uniquely magical, colourful musical great family entertainment.”

The show is directed and choreographed by Christine Bell, the musical director is Bryan Hall and the pianist is Liz Murray.
