Tales of terror in town tonight
Fans of master ghost story writer MR James be warned – the New Continental has a treat in store for you tonight.
Renowned storyteller R M Lloyd Parry will tell two tales in the guise of the enigmatic James at the Preston pub by the park tonight from 8pm.
Over a century after they were published, the stories of M R James retain their power to terrify and amuse, and this gripping one man show tells two of the eeriest.
Lost Hearts was among the first stories the author wrote and it offers one of his most memorable villains, the predatory scholar Mr Abney.
It is paired with perhaps James’s most poignant and personal work: A Warning to the Curious, in which a young archaeologist is haunted and hunted by the guardian of an ancient treasure.
A Warning to the Curious - Two Ghost Stories by M R James is tonight at 8pm.
Tickets are £8 on the door and are available online now from Skiddle, See Tickets & WeGotTickets.
