Storytelling at the Korova

Charlie Mortimer is a North West theatre director who has been working with new writing for theatre since 2008.

Her theatre company Theatre By Numbers finds ways of creating, developing, engaging and producing new work and this year that saw a collaboration with playwright Helen East.

Their project looked at how to put the writer at the heart of the creative process in the early days of scripting.

Now Charlie, Helen, Rob Johnston and Lindsay Avery have brought together six intriguing stories, designed to thrill, inform and entertain.

Next Friday’s event will consist of: True Love by Helen East performed by David Allen – romance like you’ve never seen before; The Monster’s Tale by Rob Johnston performed by Adam Urey and promising a classic twist; Clap. Pray. Nod. by Lindsay Avery performed by Andy Avery in which a father’s devotion (and concentration) is tested; The Gift by Helen East performed by Charlie Mortimer - revenge is a dish best served...however; The Boys Race by Rob Johnston performed by Kat Godfrey, a story of discovery; and No Change by Lindsay Avery performed by Andy Madden, what would you do if the world stopped working?
