Morecambe The Man What Brought Us Sunshine wowed audiences in Lancaster when it was first hosted by The Dukes in 2010.

This new production sees Bob Golding reprise the role of comedy icon Eric Morecambe, who was born in the resort from which he took his stage name in 1926.

Far from being a two-hour impersonation of the much-loved comic, this is a heart-warming, tear-jerking yet uplifting show about one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers from his humble music hall beginnings to 28 million television viewers on Christmas Day.

Eric Morecambe’s popularity continued until his untimely death on May 28, 1984, and he still has a special place in entertainment history, voted the funniest comedian of the 20th Century in 1999.

Morecambe The Man What Brought Us Sunshine will be performed on May 20 and 21 at The Dukes.
