Saucy Suburban Sweeney
The clue is in the title when West End performer Claire Sweeney brings her Sex in Suburbia show to Preston Charter Theatre next Wednesday night.
She’s written the comedy with Mandy Muden and it promises to reveal the mysteries of men, dating, finding Mr Right, and motherhood.
With production credits that include Chicago, Guys and Dolls, Educating Rita and September In The Rain and television roles in Brookside, Clocking Off, Merseybeat and Candy Cabs, Claire Sweeney has already established herself as a popular and versatile talent.
This hilarious new show is packed with revealing and raunchy storylines set to a backdrop of feminine anthems including I’m Every Woman, I Want To Break Free and Somebody Else’s Guy.
Penny Crowe (played by Lindzi Germain) is the host of a late-night radio phone-in and, as Britain’s leading Agony Aunt, she takes calls about every date from hell and the occasional one from heaven.
Claire Sweeney joins Penny on her show as a ‘relationship expert’ while Carl Patrick revels in multiple roles which take in frigid footie fans, karate chopping kids and outrageous radio host Rory Reynolds.
And keeping it all ‘real’, audience members are invited to share their own personal dating stories live on stage... to be rewarded with an Ann Summers goodie bag!
As you might guess it’s recommended for audiences aged over 16.
Sex in Suburbia is at Preston Guild Hall on Wednesday April 29 from 7.30pm.
Tickets £25, concessions £2.50 off, groups of 10 or more get the 11th FREE.
