Fylde Coast Players production of Alan Ayckbourn’s comedy Round and Round the Garden has the audience chuckling from start to finish.

Rosemary Roe has shown her experience as a director and exposed all the comedy from the script, which is well delivered by her cast.

The first half seemed to lack pace, however the second act picked up quickly.

There is no weak link among the six performers who all complement each other wonderfully. Andy Cooke is brilliant as Norman; who is intent on seducing any woman who will listen to him including Danell Dearden (Annie) and Heather Cartmell (Ruth) who also impress with their excellent characterisation and comic timing.

Helen Barrow and David Hopkinson give a very entertaining performance as henpecked husband and austere wife whilst Tim Greenwood makes the most of a particularly amusing comic misunderstanding in the second act.

The action takes place in one setting, the garden. The scenery is very attractive with admirable attention to detail and is well lit throughout. The production is well costumed by Stella Rawnsley and completed with lively music during scene changes.
