The Reduced Shakespeare Company is a comedy troupe that has been taking long, serious subjects and reducing them to short, sharp comedies since 1981.

The trio will weave their wicked way through all of Shakespeare’s 37 comedies, histories and tragedies at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre on June 13.

So far the Bad Boys of Abridgement have created eight stage shows, two TV specials and numerous radio pieces – all of which have been performed, seen, heard and translated the world over.

The company’s first three shows, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), The Complete History of America (abridged) and The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) were all West End smashes, and at one point they had more shows running in the heart of theatreland than Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Their original irreverent rapid-fire romp through the Bard, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) was London’s longest-running comedy, with nine years in the West End at the Criterion Theatre.

Their new show The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] is a high-speed rollercoaster, just 97 hilarious minutes in length.
