Lowry welcomes Oklahoma
Oklahoma! comes to The Lowry in Salford next week with well-known faces of stage and screen, Gary Wilmot and Belinda Lang.
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical also features Macclesfield-born star Charlotte Wakefield as Laurey, who has been seen in Waterloo Road and The Royal.
Belinda Lang’s TV credits include Marina Fairchild in Citizen Khan, Clarissa Auden in Doctors and Margot in My Family, while Gary Wilmot has a long stage career with credits including Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium, Billy Flynn in the UK Tour of Chicago and Bill Snibson in Me and My Girl at the Adelphi Theatre.
Set in Oklahoma territory in the early 1900s, the musical tells the story of two sets of star-crossed lovers.
