Preston Drama Club bring Agatha Christie’s popular play, MURDER IS ANNOUNCED to the Preston Playhouse.

An announcement is placed in the local paper, the Chipping Cleghorn Gazette, to say a murder will take place on Friday 13th at Little Paddocks at 6.30pm.

Lilian Blacklock, who lives at Little Paddocks, gathers her friends and relatives round to see what will happen and, sure enough, a man is shot.

But who is he? Inspector Craddock arrives to solve the case, helped by Miss Marple who just happens to be in the neighbourhood.

THE CLUB PLAYERS OF BROUGHTON present Philip King’s classic 1945 farce, SEE HOW THEY RUN, at BROUGHTON & DISTRICT CLUB, WHITTINGHAM LANE (PR3 5DA) from Wed April 9 to Sat April 12.

Directed by Judith Webster, the play is set in the vicarage of the sleepy English village of Merton–cum-Middlewick, in 1947, and features a cast of timeless characters.

An ex-actress married to a vicar, a boyfriend from her past, an outraged spinster of the parish, at least three clergymen, a kind-hearted maid, an intruder nobody recognises but who joins in the mistaken identities and chase round the lily pond, and the Army sergeant who brings it all to a satisfactory conclusion. In other words, farce at its finest.

THE ANONMYMOUS PLAYERS bring Patrick Hamilton’s famous 1938 Victorian thriller GASLIGHT to LOWTHER PAVILION, LYTHAM from Wed April 9 to Sat April 12.

Set in the London home of Bella and Jack Manningham, Gaslight is a classic Victorian thriller full of atmosphere.

Bella is convinced she’s going mad, signalled by lights in the home constantly dimming but, unbeknown to her, Jack has his own plans...

Then we discover a woman was murdered in the room above. Enter Det. Insp. Rough and a deadly game of cat and mouse is entered upon.

Directed by Joyce Burgess, the cast includes Heather Cartmell and Andy Cooke, Glynn Morton, Kathy Gemmell and Louise Davies.

Direct from London’s West End The Beatles musical, LET IT BE, above, comes to the LIVERPOOL EMPIRE from Mon April 7 to Sat April 12.

A show packed with The Beatles greatest hits, it traces their rise from humble beginnings in Liverpool’s Cavern Club through Beatlemania to their later studio 

With live performances from the early songs like ‘Twist and Shout’ and ‘She Loves You’ to later global hits.

Through the enveloping fogs of the 1980s, Bernard Miller discovers to his great surprise that his wife Linda has a penchant for collecting diamonds, setting off a mysterious chain of events.

Linda is forced to explain her actions and it soon becomes apparent there are more devious plans in progress than at first
