It will all begin with their monthly comedy night as Mike Wilkinson previews his Edinburgh show Music, Speech and the Sound of a Wheelbarrow.

Are you old enough to recall the sheer excitement and anticipation of dropping a stylus on to a vinyl record, aged 10?

Have you ever thought about why we say such silly things?

It’s all here.

“Who are you and why are you bathing my Nana?”

Music, Speech and the Sound of a Wheelbarrow is an hour in the company of one of the North West’s finest stand-up comedians and part time poultry farmer.

This is Mike’s third Edinburgh show and he recalls: “As a kid I would drop the stylus on the vinyl and wait for the music to begin.

“The crackle of static meant nothing but sheer anticipation and excitement.

“Although the static now has gone, the excitement still remains.

“Everyone has a favourite song, recording or tune.

“It never ceases to amaze me on how we can hear a song, probably not have heard it for years, and recall the lyrics verbatim.

“Music has been in my life from a very early age.”
