Hall hails 2016 stage list
Lincoln-based Chapterhouse Theatre Company will launch the 2016 season and their own summer tour at Lytham Hall, Lancashire’s most popular venue, on Sunday 12 June at 6.00 pm. The company will present Richard Main’s production of Emily Bronte’s classic novel, Wuthering Heights, adapted for the stage by Laura Turner.
Red Rose theatre fans will then welcome the return of Illyria to Lytham Hall after three very successful shows last summer with director Oliver Gray’s production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at 7.30 pm on Friday July 1. Oliver Gray, celebrating 25 years of outdoor productions next summer, is looking forward to Illyria being part of the Lytham Hall bill once again.

On Sunday 10 July at 6 pm the Hall will play host to one of the first performances by Illyria of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera Ruddigore. This sixth musical production by the company, believed to be the first-ever outdoors, will subsequently play around 40 open air dates at venues throughout the country.
To complete the programme there’s another family summer treat as Illyria are back on the afternoon of Bank Holiday Sunday 28 August at 4.00 pm with their adaptation of one of Roald Dahl’s most popular children’s books Danny, the Champion of the World.
Julian Wilde who is organising the season of plays is delighted with the variety of the 2016 programme.

In answer to many requests we have chosen weekend dates and moved the family show back to the Bank Holiday Sunday on August 28 and we are pleased that there is no increase in ticket prices next summer. I am confident that Lytham Hall will again be amongst the very best attended venues in the country for outdoor theatre.”
Tickets for Wuthering Heights can now be purchased online at www.chapterhouse.org
Tickets for the Illyria plays will be on sale shortly, both online and from seven local sales points.
