From the Apollo to Burscough

A growing entertainments promoter is bringing an international star to the county.

The Ha Ha Club was founded in Buckshaw Village, Chorley by resident Bryan Malcolm as a “community entertainment initiative”.

It has since grown into a leading Comedy Club Brand, providing Comedy Nights to venues, organisations and charities in the North West and all over the UK.

Now Canadian funnyman Tom Stade, above, will headline this month’s gig at Burscough Wharf’s comedy club.

The star of BBC1’s Live At The Apollo, Michael Mcintyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Lee Mack’s All Star Cast, Channel 4’s Stand Up For The Week and Dave’s One Night Stand will play at The Ha Ha Club based in the Wharf’s Arts Centre on March 21st.

Tom, who has been described as, ‘brilliantly mischievous’ ‘charming’ and ‘frequently cutting close to the bone’ will be supported by the hilarious Tony Jameson and Red Redmond.

Ha Ha Club’s owner Bryan Malcolm said: “Tom is a genuine comedy superstar, royalty of funny. We’ve had some massive names at Burscough but this is a real cool, even by our standards.

“Tom is a stand-up comedian from the wilds of suburban Canada, as so many have said after seeing his slice of rural suburbiana.

“His material springs out of life spent in British Columbia’s backwoods.”

Tony Jamesonsupported WWE Hall of Famer, Mick 
Foley as part of his UK tour as well as a couple of pre-tour warm up shows for Kevin Bridges, Stewart Francis and Frankie Boyle at The Stand.

And Red Redmond is a Manchester-based comedian who’s been gigging on the circuit for over two years.

He won both the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year 2011 Manchester Heat and the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year 2011 Bury Heat as well being a finalist of Laughing Penguins New Act of the Year 2010.
