Darkest London up North

Preston might be missing out on its annual treat of the Circus of Horrors, but it makes the first of several regional appearances at the Albert Halls in Bolton on Thursday.

The profile of the horror production company, started by Preston’s own Dr John Haze, rose dramatically after they made it to the finals of Britain’s Got Talent. This, combined with ringmaster John’s autobiography Mud Blood & Glitter, has made it an exciting time for Circus of Horrors.

The current tour began in The Lyric Theatre, London, the first time a circus has appeared in the West End for 100 years.

The new production, London After Midnight, is inspired by a film of the same name and is set in a plague-ridden capital.

Once again it features bizarre circus acts such as sword swallowers, knife throwers, daredevils, aerialists, a dwarf strong man, sinister sisters, and fire-limboing acrobats.
