Blackpool set to launch new attraction – indoor illuminations

Blackpool launches its newest tourist attraction on Wednesday – Indoor Illuminations.

Tourism bosses are promising to create “an exciting, vibrant, world-class attraction for the resort”.

It will open to the public on Good Friday, 18 April next year and will be housed in the Olympia Arena at the Winter Gardens.

The attraction will be featured over five floors and cover 5,000 square feet and five interactive ‘worlds’, including Land of the Giants and a Planetarium complete with live entertainment.

A spokeswoman for the resort’s tourism team said: “Adapting Chinese lantern crafts with the newest in lighting technology, visitors will be able to enjoy the attraction Blackpool is most famous for, not only up close and 
personal but indoors in weather proof comfort, which will be open all, day, every day, all year round. Harnessing the concept of the world famous illuminations the like of which has never been seen before in Europe, it promises to provide an added boost to tourism and employment.

“The launch will be hosted in the Renaissance Room at the Winter Gardens by world-renowned ‘ISA -International Special Attractions’ Group, based in Shanghai and Los Angeles and UK co-producer Jon Conway.”
