An open letter from comic Jo...

“Hello LEP readers, I’m Jo Caulfield.

“I’m a stand-up comedian. I regularly appear on TV and Radio (ooh, get me!) and I’ll be heading to Chorley Little Theatre on February 14 with my new show Uninformed Opinions.

“Uninformed Opinions is about misunderstandings and misinformed people – basically, a comedy show for anyone who has ever wanted to shout: “Shut up, you don’t know what you’re talking about!”

“There’ll also be a lot of stuff about relationships, dating and why men feel the need to constantly quote lines out of gangster films.

“As I’ll be in Chorley on Valentines Day, (I know, it’s only December, but the cards will be in the shops as soon as they take the tinsel down) the evening will definitely explore the nightmare world of dating and relationships.

“Needless to say, there will be plenty of my (uninformed) opinions on love and romance – for example, there’s nothing more romantic than a candle lit dinner.

“It means my husband can’t see me rolling my eyes when he tells me about his
latest trip to the DIY shop.

“Me and my husband have got to that stage where we finish each other’s sentences.

“He starts talking and I immediately jump in with ‘Oh, shut your face!’

“My friend sent me a lovely card for my tenth wedding anniversary – beautiful flowers on the front and inside ‘with deepest sympathy’.

“It’s funny the mixed emotions people have about babies.

“For example, my friend Shona is pregnant and she’s delighted about it. And her boyfriend’s delighted about it. But her husband is absolutely furious.

“They say that love makes the world go round – which means that the funny feeling you get when you meet someone special is technically motion sickness…

“See you in February, Jo.”

Jo is at Chorley Little Theatre on February 14. Tickets £14/£12 from Malcolm’s Musicland or call 01257 264362.
