Describing themselves as “from the wrong side of the tram tracks in England’s original ghost town,Blackpool” the band has a combined age of 450.

“Old enough to know better but young and foolish enough to enjoy music with the passion and honesty it was designed for,” said a spokesman.

Ska Face keep it real and enjoy every minute with an infectious stage show of power, energy and damn good tunes you just have to dance to.

Fronted by the enigmatic Tony Montana and featuring a phenomenal four-piece brass section, the band pack a punch from the first note. With a rhythm section as tight as drummer Alberto’s snare and lead licks that itch and scratch, the legendary Rico Rodriguez praised the ‘heavy riddim section’ when performing with Ska Face in 2011.

Playing their own material alongside classics from The Specials, Madness, The Selecter, The Beat and Bad Manners, Ska Face are at 53 Degrees on Saturday August 30, doors 7.30pm.

Tickets £7 (plus fees) from www.53degrees.net/
