Artist Mel Brimfield’s complex work takes a skewed and tangled romp through the vexed history of performance art, simultaneously revealing and inventing a rich history of collaboration between artists, dancers, theatre makers, political activists and comedians.

Testing Media is part of the Live at LICA programme marking the university’s 50th Anniversary, and in partnership with the Harris Museum & Art Gallery, Preston, the Brimfield show features 19 works that demonstrate the artist’s multifarious practice.

The exhibition demonstrates the significant work and legacies created through long-term support and partnership working.

Supported by the Art Fund and the Contemporary Art Society, Testing Media is an initiative backing the acquisition of contemporary works considered outside the traditional boundaries of fine art.
