Romeo and Juliet as you've never seen it before comes to Chorley Theatre
and live on Freeview channel 276
Bad news Shakespeare fans, Rubbish Romeo and Juliet are back, and they could not be less happy about it. Especially as they prepare, once more, to sully the legacy of Britain’s theatres with a play that's so rubbish, it'd leave Shakespeare spinning in his grave.
But while this all-ages family production may be rubbish, it’s not just for kids. It’s a spectacle for the whole family, similar to a Pixar film or a good episode of The Simpsons - combined with the riotous atmosphere of a panto!

Hide AdTaking liberties with the language, Shakespeare’s classic text is spliced with one-liners, clowning, physical comedy, balconies made out of people, a food fight with one too many sausage rolls, and slapstick that could make a stuntman blush! It’ll likely be the funniest tragedy you’ll ever see (yes, you read that correctly).
“All our set and props are foraged and bought from discount shops. The wigs are matted, and our props are cheap ‘tat’ that any kid could find around the house. We aim to make ‘Shakespeare for All’ - for everyone - regardless of age or background. That’s the reason we’re ‘rubbish’; if we can do it, anyone can!”
The 60-minute show is performed in Chorley Theatre's Studio at 11am and 2.30pm on Tuesday 9th April. More details at www.chorleytheatre.com
