Jamaican-born Little Roy has been entertaining since the late 1960s and is the perfect compliment to the Ska band that is Madness.

His performance this Saturday sees him present the critically acclaimed Nirvana covers project Battle for Seattle which spawned a No.1 album on i-Tunes and saw him take on the Summer European festivals as well as an exclusive performance and interview on Jools Holland’s Later.

Reggae and Ska have always been sounds synonymous with the summer and Little Roy’s reworking of the classic Nirvana hits reveal an entirely new side to these instantly recognisable songs.  Battle for Seattle is an amazing collision of worlds and the perfect accompaniment to Madness.

Up and coming band Reconnected are included in the Madness line-up. Blackpool-based performers Karima Francis, Nancy Langton and Last Breath will also perform.

Singer-songwriter Karima is fast making a name for herself and is particularly well known at Blackpool events, while four-piece rock band Last Breath will be making their Switch-On debut. Rising star Nancy Langton will perform ahead of the Madness gig.

For Little Roy it will be his first Blackpool performance.

He said: “I’ve heard great things about the Blackpool Illuminations but I’ve not played here before so I am looking forward to this gig.
