Aerialists Ockhams Razor bring their amazing show, Not Until We Are Lost, to Salfords Lowry this week, in collaboration with Whalley Range Open Voice Community Choir. Plus Piaf at Bolton Octagon

Manchester’s Whalley Range Open Voice community choir joins former Liverpool Philharmonic composer in residence Graham Fitkin to score an astonishing aerial theatre performance from the critically-acclaimed Ockham’s Razor at the Lowry in Salford.

Following their highly-acclaimed aerial work The Mill, the company return here with their second full-length show, Not Until We Are Lost, an immersive, promenade production that brings the audience into the heart of the performance.

Ockham’s Razor formed in 2004, and combine circus and visual theatre.

Not Until We Are Lost plays with perspective, inviting the audience to explore new ways of seeing and drawing them into its unique style of story-telling.

The final show of Bolton Octagon’s season is the Pam Gems’ classic Piaf.

The powerful drama with music celebrates the life of the French singer and cultural icon Edith Piaf, following her rise from the streets of Paris to the international stage.

She became known as the ‘little sparrow’, for her petite frame and nervousness on stage, and her connections to the French Resistance, addictions to morphine and alcohol, dramatic love life that was to end in tragedy, and rumours of links to ‘the mob’ all contributed to her enigma.

In title role is Caroline Faber, who will sing Piaf’s songs live, including La Vie En Rose and Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien. Toine, Piaf’s early friend, is Kate Coogan, currently at the Octagon in Can’t Pay? Won’t Pay!
