Music, magic, dragons and stories at nature reserve

It’s nature and nurture at a Lancashire wildlife reserve this weekend.

Brockholes, at junction 31 of the M6 at Samlesbury, is hosting a three-day festival, starting on Saturday.

The Lancashire Wildlife Trust site will host a range of live performances, including magic shows, storytelling and music.

Acts include poet Dommy B, Preston street magician Magi‘Chris and the Bard of Bowland William Michael Neary. Alternative folk band Crossbill, three-piece blues band Smokehouse Slim and the Whiskey Kiss and classic violinist Tom Woolsgrove will all perform live.

SATURDAY, MAY 3:

Rhyme & Reasoning (11am-11.50am, £4 per person/£12 family of four, 2+2).

Join us for story telling in rhyme! Starring William Michael Neary, Dean Fraser and special guests Tarquin Scott and Irene Flack.

Live Music (2pm-3pm, £4 per person/£12 family of four, 2+2).

Performing will be flamenco guitarist Tom Metcalfe, folk singer Nora Devaney, Manchester performer Lomax and Preston alternative folk band Crossbill.

SUNDAY, MAY 4

The Dragon who Hates Poetry, with Dommy B (2pm-3pm, £6 per person/£18 family of four, 2+2). Armed with only a pen and a paper, Dommy B needs YOUR help to bring this fearful dragon’s reign to an end. A fun show full of laughs, lyrics and lots of joining in.

MONDAY, MAY 5

Magi’Chris (11.30am-12.15pm, £4 per person/£12 family of four, 2+2). Preston’s favourite street magician Chris Woodworth, better known as Magi’Chris, performs live!

Renowned for the way he connects with people, fun, laughter and wonder are guaranteed.

Live Music (2pm-3pm, £4 per person/£12 family of four, 2+2).

The Bank Holiday weekend is rounded off with another quality session featuring the best local music talent.

On the bill are singer/songwriters James Todd and 
Annie Tilley, as well as classical violinist Tom Woolsgrove and the three-piece Preston blues band, Smokehouse Slim & The Whiskey Kiss.
