More ‘event cinema’ on the way

Following packed houses at Chorley Little Theatre for Monty Python this weekend, bosses have added more ‘Event Cinema’ showings.

Skylight, starring Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan, has sold out its live West End run but it is being screened on on Thursday, July 31.

In September, CLT has its first Royal Shakespeare Company broadcast, with the comedy The Two Gentlemen of Verona on Wednesday, September 3. There will also be RSC screenings of Love’s Labours Lost (Wednesday, February 11 2015) and Love’s Labour’s Won (better known as Much Ado About Nothing) on Wednesday, March 4.

The Young Vic’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire is on Tuesday, September 16.

The National Theatre Live line-up continues with classic revenge play Medea (live on Thursday, September 4), and Danny Boyle’s acclaimed 2011 production of Frankenstein.

Modern-day TV Sherlocks Benedict Cumberbatch and Johnny Lee Miller took turns to play both the Creature and the Doctor (Saturday, November 8).
