Last Chance for the gentlemen of rock and roll

The Southport Gentlemen of Rock ‘n’ Roll Association, which formed two years ago, is to throw a ‘Last Chance Dance’ next weekend and all fans of rock ‘n’ roll are welcome.

The event, at Fleetwood Hesketh Sports and Social Club in Fylde Road on Friday October 10 will feature a full evening’s entertainment with DJ, dancing and starring two local groups from the 60s.

The Bootles are one of the country’s top Beatle tribute bands and have played all over the continent with their ‘Beatles Story’ show.

Drummer Alan Menzies nd lead guitarist George Eccles, were original members of Southport’s Rhythm and Blues Incorporated who had a Top 40 hit in 1964 with The Kingsmen’s ‘Louie Louie’.

Gordon Halsall, founder member of The Sandgrounders, recently celebrated 50 Years in the business and, with Keith Livingstone from The Zeniths on drums, will be presenting an exciting new repertoire.

DJ for the evening is 60s legend, Martin Hawkins, who will be playing hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.

The doors open at 7.30 with music from 8pm to Midnight.
