The lads from the Tyne are all yours, all yours
Fans of legendary Geordie folk band Lindisfarne have three chances to celebrate the group with two of its longest serving members this month as they play across the North West.
Ray Laidlaw (who was there from the start) and Billy Mitchell, are back out on the road with The Lindisfarne Story a musical celebration of the band
In a musical celebration of the band, the pair perform many of Lindisfarne’s classic songs and tell the inside story of the band’s rise to fame, their concert tours, recording sessions, festival, radio and TV appearances, as well as plenty of tales from behind the scenes.
It is now more than decade since legendary Geordie folk-rock band Lindisfarne called it a day after 33 years of chart-topping albums and a string of songs which have lodged themselves in the public’s consciousness.
From Fog On The Tyne to Meet Me On The Corner, their songs were deeply rooted in the north-east but, at the same time, had universal appeal.
Ray said: “The Lindisfarne Story is the result of 50 years of friendship and musical collaboration.
“It tells the tale of a bunch of Geordie lads with a dream. There’s a lot of laughs, a few tears and a barrowload of fantastic music.
