Jazz goes off at a Tangent at Lancaster as composer premieres new piece

A new jazz season opens at Live at LICA in Lancaster next week.

First up next Thursday is award-winning vocal trio Juice and jazz/classical quintet Tangent, with a programme drawing on jazz, classical, world music, jazz, pop and theatre.

At the heart of the programme is a new work by young composer Luke Styles, the premiere of the piece.

Following their appearance three years ago, on March 20 Live at LICA again welcomes the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, one of Britain’s longest running ensembles for people under 25 playing big band jazz. The band features many musicians and vocalists who have gone on to become professional musicians.
