The man known as the Bolton Bullfrog has been performing on the folk scene since the 1960s and is known for, as he puts it, ‘being very silly’.

As well as a singing career which has spanned more than five decades, Wrigley has also had considerable success on the screen, too.

He has been in Phoenix Nights, Coronation Street and Victoria Woods’ Dinnerladies, and appeared in the film Brassed Off.

Tickets for Saturday’s show at the Pavilion Cafe in Ashton Gardens, St Annes, cost £8 from lsa [email protected] or from the venue direct.

“For anybody who hasn’t seen Bernard before he is a fantastic artist and very funny,” said Steve Canavan, who runs the monthly folk club.

“When he’s on stage he performs some great songs and also reads some of the funniest poetry you’ll ever hear.

“It should be a cracking night and certainly one of the busiest we’ve had.”

Only a handful of tickets remain for the performance.

The show starts at 8pm.
