Herd it here first – ABC are simply hard to beat
Those lucky enough to have a ticket for this weekend’s sold-out Beat-Herder Festival should dust off their shoulder pads and prepare for an epic surprise – legendary 80s pop stars ABC have been added to the bill.
The Sheffield new-wavers hit the heights in the 80’s with critically acclaimed album The Lexicon of Love, which spawned smash singles Poison Arrow, The Look of Love and more.
ABC will perform on the main stage Saturday.
Festival co-founder Nick Chambers said: “We always like to keep a little something up our sleeves – a surprise treat for all the Herders that got their tickets in early.” It’s going to be a great show and will definitely blend into the bonkersness of the whole event, especially if Martin, right, wears his famous gold lamé suit!
Renowned as one of the best festivals of the summer, Beat-Herder is celebrating its ninth year and will take place from this Friday to Sunday on its site near Sawley.
The line-up includes Happy Mondays, Badly Drawn Boy and Goldie Looking Chain. In addition to music there is a range of alternative experiences, with 15 specialist stages ranging from “Oriental Mystery of The Fortress” to ‘The Trailer Trash Big Top’ and ‘The Authentic Working Men’s Club’.
