Green day at Colne’s annual diverse festival

Colne is staging its popular GreenRock Concert this Saturday.

Held on Colne’s Millennium Green, off Shaw Street in Waterside, there will be diverse musical performances from noon until 7pm.

The Committee’s Chair, Councillor Dorothy Lord, explained: “We want families to bring their chairs and picnic blankets and enjoy the entertainment. There is bound to be something for everyone.”

Noon - DRaks Drum - acoustic-rock band from Colne

1pm - TBA

2pm - LEN - Original music from song writer, Mike Craine

3pm Dirty Donnas – A four piece cover band from Earby

4pm BIGBELLY HIFI – A traditional reggae sound system from Colne with its

roots derived from British sound system culture

4.30pm - DRUM MACHINE - uses traditional Samba Reggae instruments, to

create pumping dance floor grooves influenced by Techno /Drum and Bass/

Reggae and Dub/Funk/House/Jazz

5pm - Walter Mitty’s Head - 60’ Punk, Psychobilly from Colne

PLUS A bit more DRUM MACHINE

6pm - Rasta4Eyes - Leaving behind the ska-punk mayhem, their sound has evolved into disciplined dub-reggae music.
