One of Britain’s most sought-after live acts The New Rope String Band play their first concert in Lancashire later this month.

Having earned rave reviews and awards at festivals across the country, including the Edinburgh Fringe, this is an opportunity to savour.

Equally at home in village hall or major festival stage, these manic minstrels mix long-time favourite routines with ever-evolving new material. From musical gyrations to deconstructed nursery rhymes, Python-esque absurdism to pyrotechnics, dream sequences and live, interactive film, expect the hilariously unexpected.

Elements of music hall, clowning and slapstick are spliced with beautiful acoustic music from various world traditions, in precision-honed yet uproarious performances that have delighted audiences from Borneo’s Sarawak rainforest to the Shetland Folk Festival.

They play at Padiham Unitarian Church on Saturday, September 13, from 7-30pm.

Money raised by the concerts will be shared between the North West Air Ambulance, the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund and the church itself.
