Funeral for a Friend return

Formed in Bridgend in 2001, they caused a sensation on the British rock scene with the release of their debut album, Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation, two years later.

Going gold and giving them three Top 20 singles, this album is still acclaimed as one of the landmark punk records of that decade.

It also helped them to win metal magazine Kerrang’s Award for Best Newcomer in that same year.

On the follow ups, Hours in 2005, and Tales Don’t Tell Themselves in 2007, they moved away from the screaming vocals and heavy metal guitars which marked that debut, to a more melodic style

Fourth album, Memory and Humanity, which they put out on their own label, Join Us, showed the band at their most diverse so far.

But for this album and the last, Welcome Home Armageddon, in 2011, they worked through other independents and have swung back to the hardcore energy which marked their debut – something which pleased early fans.
