Freddie Flintoff's Field Of Dreams: Viewers praise Prestonian cricket star's new BBC show as first episode airs

The Prestonian cricket star’s ‘Field of Dreams’ is a new documentary, filmed right here in the city, that hopes to break stereotypes surrounding the sport.

Last night’s epsiode introduced us to the challenge that is Freddie’s task, as the sporting legend must create a cricket team from scratch with Preston teenagers, who seem reluctant from the start.

Despite the negative attitudes towards cricket he faces, Freddie holds try outs, starts a training regime, and takes the teenagers to their first ever cricket match.

Not only has Freddie started to win over the young Prestonians, he also seems to have won over viewers on Twitter.

Sam Thomas tweeted: “That new Flintoff show is a class watch. Makes you proud to be from Preston"

Cat Parker commented: "Watching Freddie Flintoff build a cricket team in Preston and reminds me how amazing youth work is - getting a group of kids together and giving them something to do. Responding to the feedback, Freddie himself tweeted: “Thank you so much for all your kind comments about “Freddie Flintoff’s field of dreams” last night. Loved filming it and spending time with a great group of lads . Episode 2 is next Tuesday 8pm @BBCOne”

There will be three episodes of Freddie’s Field of Dreams in total, all airing between 8-9 pm on Tuesdays.
