Expect the unexpected...

Expect the unexpected when The New Rope String Band help More Music celebrate their 20th anniversary in Morecambe on Saturday.

They combine musicianship with comedy in a show featuring elements of circus, vaudeville and slapstick with acoustic music from various world traditions including Celtic, bluegrass, cajun, boogie-woogie, Dixieland and classical work.

They’ve even been known to include seagull impressions . . . highly appropriate for their Morecambe date.

The local element of the event includes performances by Leap To Your Feet Appalachian Dancers and Paddy Garrigan.

The gig coincides with the Catch the Wind Kite Festival which, this year, is extended over a full weekend to celebrate More Music’s anniversary. On Morecambe Promenade from noon-5pm each day there will be music, arts, crafts and entertainment for all ages to enjoy, and in the skies above, dozens of creative kites will create a display during this free event.
