Enjoy a slice of park life

Green-fingered volunteers are needed to help maintain Cuerden Valley Park this weekend The park, near Bamber Bridge, hosts its latest Conservation Volunteers event on Sunday, September 1 from 10am-3pm.

Work will be led by a ranger and is suitable for over 13s only. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

On Monday, September 2, youngsters can enjoy a drop-in pond dipping session at the park from 10.30am-noon.

The event takes place at Covert Pond, on the main path from Town Brow Car Park to the picnic area,

Children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is aimed at children aged four and over, but younger children are welcome.

The event costs £2 per child.
