Clarke Carlisle book launch

SilverDell, which is located on Poulton Street in Kirkham, hosts a book launch night with a Q&A session on September 16.

Acclaimed as Britain’s Brainiest Footballer for his performance on game show Countdown, Clarke is an ambassador for the Kick It Out scheme which campaigns for equality in football.

In July he presented a documentary called Football’s Suicide Secret, which tackled the issues of mental health in football.

The book speaks of these troubles in the game, and looks back at his career from his early days in England’s Under-21s, battles with alcohol problems and a late arrival to the Premier League with Burnley.
