Chorley’s Independent Bookshop celebrates its first birthday

To mark the event there will be cake, crafty things to do plus a lucky dip & birthday raffle for every purchase made.

Bookseller Diane Gunning opened the shop last April to provide a lovely place for Chorley booklovers to browse and buy quality books, gifts & cards.

“Our first year has been a steep learning curve, but very enjoyable. I’ve met so many supportive people and have a fantastic base of regular book-loving customers. My aim for the next year is to increase our stock of adult fiction titles, take more authors into schools and let even more people know that Chorley has a fantastic independent bookshop. Not many towns still have an independent bookshop but Chorley shoppers have a real shop local ethos and that makes a huge difference to retailers.”

Other events this Easter holiday week include oil painting and lino printing workshops by local Kids’ Artrooms, Story Yoga and Book Art Workshops to make a hedgehog, bumble bee or bird house.
