Chart topper backs the Mill

Luke Concannon who, as part of Nizlopi, took quirky heartwarming childhood ditty ‘The JCB Song’ to the top in December 2005, will perform with musical partner Jimmy Davis at Halton Mill on May 15.

The evening, hosted by poet George Harhead, is predicted to be “soul-fired, folk hip-hop from the depths”!

Luke and Jimmy are playing at the award winning eco-workspace as part of an ongoing effort to raise funds for sound-proofing at Halton Mill’s planned music rehearsal and recording space.

Luke said of his support for good causes: “We are one people and one land all over the world.

“We are in this together, and if we act with that awareness, we slowly become sane and whole again. Our songs are for the poorest, the broken in nature. They are a contribution to the movement for social and ecological justice – and some are even good to dance to!”

Luke Concannon and Jimmy Davis will play Halton Mill on Thursday, May 15, from 8pm.

A licensed bar will serve real ale until 11 pm.
