Believe it or not 2019 is just around the corner!

Whether you're living in Lancashire or have plans to visit this coming year, there is a bumper programme of events to look forward to. Here is a small selection of the must-see events coming to the county in 2019 – we can’t wait!

The award winning Vintage by The Sea Festival returns to Morecambe on the weekend August 31 - September 1 2019 with a wonderful mix of things to do, all with a vintage twist. Join in the fun from The Midland Hotel with live music, classic cars, The Marketplace, workshops and much more.

Lytham Festival - the 10th anniversary from July 10 -14 sees the biggest line up yet with The Human League, Stereophonics, Kylie, Rod Stewart and Michael Ball and Sheridan Smith headlining the five-day event
Lancaster Music Festival will also this year be celebrating a milestone 10th event from October return in October 10 -14. Once again the historic city of Lancaster will come alive with performances, with around 50 venues, all easily walkable within the city, ranging from cafs and coffee shops, bookshops and banks and including the majority of the city's 30-odd wonderful pubs and bars. The headline stage will be inside the courtyard of historic Lancaster Castle
The 2019 line up is yet to be announced but Blackpool Festival will take place at the Blackpool Tower Headland from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 July. Organisers say there will be a new format for the Friday. Saturday will feature an 'old skool' DJ line-up hosted by Back To The Old Pool. Sunday will be a family offering, 'Party On The prom' - a family festival with well-known children's entertainment, activities such as baking, science and drumming workshops, circus skills, and more.
Preston carnival is the largest and longest running cultural celebration in Preston outside of the Preston Guild, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. On June 10 2019 the city dances to the rhythms of the Caribbean. Starting at 12 Noon the procession travels from Moor Park, down Deepdale Road and around the Deepdale area The Main Stage programme will start at 1.30pm
Highest Point, Lancasters biggest music festival is held in the surroundings of Williamson Park, it returns from May 17-19 May 2019 The festival has extended the hours on Friday and Saturday and will have five stages of music for 12 hours each day from 11am - 11pm as well as adding a dedicated family day on Sunday from 9am - 6pm.
The countdown begins again for one of the biggest nights of Blackpools summer the Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On concert on August 30. It will once again feature a star-studded concert produced in association with MTV. This is a free ticket event all you have to do is register to be part of the ballot to win tickets.
Blackpools Livewire Festival, which was due to take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend in 2018 was postponed to the new year. Organisers say to watch this space....
Organisers for the Beat-Herder Festival are preparing for another weekend of madness from July 12-14 2019. The line up is yet to be announced but Beat-Herder will once again transform Lancashires Ribble Valley into a technicolour party and escapists utopia, with an array of 20+ whimsical stages, world-class DJs and surprises aplenty.
Another iconic event in the resort's yearly calendar. A free day for all the family and the 2019 show will take place on Saturday, Sunday 10 and 11 August 2019. The programme always showcases the very best in British aviation.
