Bestseller Hornby is back

Best-selling author Nick Hornby will be in Lancashire next week to chat about his new book.

Funny Girl is Fever Pitch author Nick’s first novel in five years.

It tells the story of Blackpool beauty queen Sophie Straw, who gives up her crown to move to London, seeking fame as a comedic actress, in era when there were few ‘funny girls’ on TV.

Set in the 1960s, the book paints a vivid picture of popular culture and light entertainment in its heyday, told with Nick’s usual flair for witty social observation.

The Whitbread Award winning author has sold more than 5m books worldwide.

The event, at Rossall School in Fleetwood, will include an interview with Nick and achance for the audience to ask questions.

It will take place at 7pm on Friday November 14.

Tickets cost £18.99 and include a signed copy of the new book.
