Arts and crafts both old and new

Items worth more than £2m will go on sale when the Harrogate-based organisers Galloway Antiques Fairs return to the college for the 20th year.

There will be a wide range of items to suit every taste and pocket, giving visitors the opportunity to furnish their homes with style and elegance and unique one-off pieces.

Among the 35 or so dealers will be local dealers Heritage Antiques and Lancaster House Antiques, both specialising in clocks and furniture, Mark Buckley, of Skipton, who deals in inlaid Victorian and Edwardian furniture, and Jack Yarwood, also from Skipton, who deals in netsuke, okimono, snuff boxes and more.

Among traditional and contemporary art dealers are Jo Bennett, left, of Cheshire, Plumb Fine Art from Shropshire, Coppergate Gallery of York, Art of the Imagination of Wiltshire and Granta Fine Art of Cambridgeshire. Fu T’sang Lung of South Yorkshire specialises in Oriental Antiques .

Jewellers will include Plaza, Anderson Jones, S & A Thomson and Scarab.

Among fair regulars will be Jane Kirsopp-Reed of Newcastle, period oak dealers Melody Antiques of Chester, Christine Thom of Perthshire and Antiquarian map dealer J.

As always there will be superb catering offered by the college, and visitors to the fair are welcome to walk around the beautiful gardens.
