The £45 million development, situated adjacent to the historic Market Hall, promises a premier cinematic experience for all visitors.
The cinema was officially inaugurated by Preston's own Nick Park CBE, the multi-award-winning animator and creator of Wallace and Gromit. In addition to opening the cinema, Park unveiled a new four-foot-high statue of Feathers McGraw, the infamous penguin from his beloved series, now proudly displayed within the complex.
The exclusive pre-opening event welcomed competition winners and VIPs for a special screening. Among the attendees was The Arc Cinema's 'Golden Ticket' winner, Mia Patmore, who was selected from over 1,000 entries on The Arc Cinema's Facebook page. Mia has been awarded free cinema access for herself and a friend for the next six months.
The Arc Cinema features eight screens, including two HYPERSENSE auditoriums equipped with super-sized screens and immersive Dolby Atmos surround sound. Comfort is paramount, with luxurious recliner seating standard in every screen, ensuring all guests enjoy the same premium experience at a uniform price, regardless of seating choice or showtime.
To enhance convenience, cinema patrons can enjoy three hours of free parking. During the initial weeks, however, with the anticipated opening of Hollywood Bowl in early March, parking will be unlimited and free for all visitors. Once the system is operational, guests will simply enter their vehicle registration into a tablet upon arrival.
Opening weekend festivities on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd February from 10am to 2pm include family-friendly activities such as mascots, face painting, glitter tattoos, and more. Featured films for this weekend include "Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy," "Captain America: Brave New World," and DreamWorks' latest animated adventure, "Dog Man," based on the best-selling children's book series.
