‘Anarchic’ steam fair

Organisers of the Scorton Steam Fair have lined up more than 600 exhibits and an action packed programme for the two-day event, now in its eleventh year.

And for 2015 Scorton Steam is teaming with a new charity partner – the North Lancashire and South Cumbria branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

The popular family event, held at the 30-acre showground home of Woodacre Lodge Farm, Gubberford Lane, Scorton will be open over Father’s Day weekend June 20 - 21

Spectators can enjoy a number of highlights, this year’s headline act is bikers stunt group the Purple Helmets.

A spokesman for the organisers said: “Anarchic and fun, they perform the most spectacular motorcycle stunts. Their displays, ram packed with near misses, are designed to have audience’s hearts in their mouths.”

Attractions will also include lawnmower racing, fairground, soft play area, bungee trampolines, falconry display, tug of war match, quad bikes, craft marquee and demonstrations, beer tent and food hall with world cuisine to suit all tastes plus shopping stalls.

Both show days, Scorton opens to the public at 9am but visitors also have the opportunity to camp from Friday to Sunday.

Entry to Scorton is £9 for adults and £6 for pensioners and children aged 10-16 years. Children under 10 are admitted for free and there is ample free parking.

Camping costs £70 per tent or caravan from Friday through to Sunday night, which includes free entry to the show for two people.
