An egg-cellent weekend

Easter is here and with it a range of events and activities for young and old.

Brockholes Nature Reserve has a busy schedule, with boat making, den building, an Easter trail, crafts and one very special guest – the Easter Bunny!

Their ever-popular ‘Wild Families’ is on Tuesdays and Fridays (2-4pm, £3pp/£10 family of four) over the holidays, too.

The Easter Bunny Burrow is every day over the weekend bar Good Friday (Saturday, Sunday, Monday, 11am-3pm, £3), where you can meet the Easter Bunny and real life rabbits, too.

Drop-in crafts and activities make up Wild about Easter (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 11am-4pm). There is also the Easter Trail (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 11am-4pm) to explore. Pick up a trail sheet for £1, collect the clues, solve the puzzle and win a prize.

There will be fun for all the family on the annual Easter Fair on Moor Park (opposite Deepdale Stadium).

The fair is open daily from 1-9pm. Over 20 rides and attractions for all ages. Entry £1.

Easter Monday will be busy at Hoghton Tower with a Farmers’ Market, family fun and tours of the grand Tudor pile.

From crafts to local produce, the farmers’ market has something for everyone.

Albion Historical Falconry will also be on hand for a day of 
Tudor-themed falconry displays, at 11:30am and 3pm. www.hoghtontower.co.uk.

The annual Easter Sunday Funday takes place at Guy’s Thatched Hamlet at Bilsborrow, on Sunday in support of charity Donna’s Dream House. The Easter Bunny will host the Funday from 1pm with Egg Rolling, Guy’s Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Bonnet and best decorated egg contest.

West Lancashire Light Railway in Hesketh Bank has a 
friendly engine event from 11.30 am to 4.30 pm every Easter day apart from Saturday. Adults £4, children £3 (under 3 free), senior £3.50.

A FREE family disco goes ahead on Easter Monday 1-5pm at BAC/ee Sports Club South Meadow Lane, Preston.

Finally, Botany Bay is open all Easter from 9am to 5.30pm, with a 1kg Easter Egg hunt on Easter Monday at 2pm.
