53 Degrees show for Catfish and the Bottlemen

he four-piece have appeared several times in the city, topping the bill over the road at Fylde Road’s Mad Ferret pub.

But tomorrow night, they graduate to the intimate upstairs club room at the student union venue, with support from Flight of Arrows and Beat The Bandit.

The quartet – singer and guitarist Van McCann, lead guitarist Billy Bibby, bassist Benji Blakeway and drummer Bob Hall – met at school and, over the last 18 months, have honed their live show to the point where they are making an impact on the industry.

They signed to Communion Records earlier this year and released new single, Homesick, recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales with Communion co-founder Ian Grimble, who has produced the Manic Street Preachers, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Mercury nominees British Sea Power.

They are set for summer appearances at The Great Escape, Dot to Dot and Tramlines Festivals.
