Well known parishioners, Fred and Dot Little, at their talk and tea starting at 2.15pm, will show how the parish has reached 150 years since becoming an Ecclesiastical Parish in 1868.

The special anniversary is being marked with 15 celebratory occasions through the year under the title ‘Celebrating the Past, Looking to the Future.’

Tickets, £3 including scones and cake, are available after church services or from Dot Little on 01772 783998. The next event on Saturday April 28 is a Musical Safari with music and food at different parish venues, starting at St Lawrence’s Church at 5.30pm.

Generous giving always noted in Longridge for different causes has resulted in ChurchesTogether in Longridge raising £1,344 from their annual Lent Lunches held the week before Easter.

Organising teams from the four churches thank everyone for their excellent support, despite the weather, and the total divided sees £672 going to Christian Aid and CAFOD, the Catholic Aid for Overseas Development.

To support Christian Aid Week from May 13 to 19, one of the churches - Christ Church in Berry Lane - is hosting events including its popular Music in the Afternoon, the Longridge market coffee day and a quiz night. Full details will be available nearer the time.
