Birmingham City vs Preston North End LIVE

23' Scrappy spectacle (0-0)

It's not been a brilliant watch, so far. Birmingham have had the two chances but both sides are struggling to gain any real control or rhythm in the match, despite trying to get the ball down and play. On the few chances Frokjaer has picked the ball up in pockets of space, he has looked threatening.

16' Two chances for Blues (0-0)

Woodman with a strong save to deny Bacuna from 12 yards, after Birmingham carved PNE open. James then shoots narrowly wide from distance, but Woodman looked happy to leave it alone all the way. The home side have carried a threat down the left, in these first 15 minutes.

Bacuna and Paik combine down the left, with the former eventually striking his first time effort well over the crossbar - to jeers from the away end. North End have had a couple of nearly moments themselves, but are yet to create their first chance of the match.

5' Vital challenge (0-0)

Miyoshi works the ball inside, from the right and Stansfield gears up to strike - only for McCann to get a foot in at the crucial moment.

We're under way at St Andrew's... great noise inside this place in the early exchanges.

Here come the teams

The sun is still shining and there's a solid crowd in St Andrew's, as the two teams are welcomed on to the pitch - PNE in their all yellow strip and Birmingham in classic blue and white. Around 1,400 North End fans have made the trip and are over to our right.

Birmingham - 5/4

Draw - 12/5

Preston - 21/10

Captain Alan Browne misses out through illness, while Jack Whatmough also starts in defence as Jordan Storey drops to the bench. Those are the two changes from Good Friday's win over Rotherham United.

Liam Millar is back in the squad and named as a substitute, but Ben Whiteman, Ryan Ledson, Brad Potts and Ched Evans remained sidelined. Interim Birmingham boss, Gary Rowett, brings Jordan Jmes back into the team as Koji Miyoshi also starts. Cody Drameh and Tyler Roberts are subs.
