Exclusive Matt Jansen column
Chorley have played some scintillating football at times, during which we’ve racked up three consecutive wins to move us into the play-off zone with five league matches remaining.
We’ve caused plenty of problems, and created more chances over the past few weeks with the three up top in Marcus Carver, Alex Newby and Jason Walker.

Hide AdThat’s especially pleasing, as we have a fantastic defensive record, so to find our scoring feet again, at the right time, is fantastic.
We were set to play Leamington on Tuesday night last week, but unfortunately that was called off.
Again, it’s frustrating as that’s now been rescheduled for Thursday night this week and adds to the list of matches we have in a short space of time.
However, that can’t be helped, and we’ve generated really good momentum recently and match after match after match can be a real positive.

Hide AdWe hosted Blyth Spartans on Saturday and won 2-0 in what was a fantastic performance.
I said to the lads we have to focus on the current match, and forget about the run-in we have, and they did just that on Saturday.
They put in a fantastic shift, and we thoroughly deserved the win.
The team look fantastic going forward and Marcus Carver is in terrific form, scoring goals for fun over the past few weeks and we’re delighted for him.

Hide AdHe’s a talent we’re very fortunate to have and he’s scoring his goals at the right time.
Alex Newby scored again, taking his goals tally up to three.
He did really well to find so much space in the six-yard-box and thanks to a great cross on the left from Marcus, he was able to neatly tuck it home.
I felt when we played Blyth at their place earlier on in the season, they were one of the strongest sides we’ve faced this season.

Hide AdThey’re a real Jekyll and Hyde side, having only drawn one match through the entire season.
They either go for it or they lose, and fortunately for us I felt we were reasonably comfortable for the majority of the match.
This week is going to be a hectic one to say the least.
We host Stockport on Tuesday night, in what is a huge match as it’s fifth versus sixth. We then travel to Leamington on Thursday night, followed by Tamworth on Saturday and then the Lancashire FA Trophy final at the Macron Stadium on Monday.
We have six matches remaining, five in the league, so the next fortnight is going to be crucial to the entire season.

Hide AdI’m excited for our run-in to show what we can do and I hope you we get some big crowds to back the lads as we look to cement our place in the play-offs and climb as high as we can.
