Two people had to be cut free from the wreckage of a car following a collision early today.

Three fire crews from Chorley and Bamber Bridge were called to the scene of the smash in Dawbers Lane, Euxton at around 3am.

The firefighters used cutting equipment to release the casualties from the vehicle.

They were taken by ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known.
